Anti-Adultist Practice
Participants will work together to build an understanding of adultism – the concept that we as adults have unearned privileges in learning spaces and our greater society.
DETAILS
As youth workers, we know the importance of sharing power and building strong relationships with young people. Still, we often forget to question our assumptions about what young people can and cannot do, reinforcing the oppression young people experience. We’ll also explore adultism as a lens into other isms, and work together to find solutions and be in practice with justice-centered teaching.
